HOURS:         Part time / Non-Exempt

0.6 FTE (48 hours per pay period with the potential to increase hours)

Days & Evenings, may include rotating weekends/holidays/call

This position may be accountable for providing personal care and designated health related services designed to maintain the client’s physical and emotional well-being in compliance with the Agency’s policies, procedures and standards for the Home Health Aide/ Homemaker. The Ward Secretary is responsible for reporting to the supervising nurse and administration.


Education/Training:  Must have a high school diploma.CNA certificate and completed the competency test-out satisfactorily, or possess a 75 hourCNA certificate and a 15 hour HHA certificate or have a 90 hour HHA certificate or have completed the competency test-out satisfactorily.


  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with client, family and home care staff members.
  • Must be able to demonstrate efficiency, motivation and competency in skills assigned.
  • Has reliable transportation to client’s home as assigned.
  • Has a valid Minnesota’s Driver’s License.
  • Basic computer skills, understanding of medical terminology, ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Ability of communicate effectively with office staff, clients, other employees and managers.
  • Good communication skills, telephone, verbal and written with good spelling.
  • Friendly and courteous personality, organizational skills, prioritize job and manage interruptions and maintain confidentiality.
