POSITION:                  House Supervisor – Internal Posting (several positions)

HOURS:                       Full Time/Exempt

-Mon-Thurs 3 p.m.- 11 p.m. (no weekends) – 0.8 FTE

-Mon-Thurs 11 p.m.- 7 a.m. (no weekends) – 0.8 FTE

-Weekends flexible 0.9 FTE

12 hour days/12 hour nights

Job Summary

The House Supervisor organizes the provision of nursing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.  He/she delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their preparation and job descriptions. The House Supervisor contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the Chippewa County- Montevideo Hospital (CCMH) and Department of Nursing Service, and meets the requirements of the federal, state and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. He/she will be clinically competent and will be able to provide direct patient care to patients of all ages, as noted in the age-related categories section. This position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers and others.  The House Supervisor will supervise and support nursing staff and take responsibility for maintaining a high level of quality patient care. He/she may participate in the interviewing and hiring process, orientation of new staff and will serve as a resource and mentor for nursing staff. The House Supervisor can validate time and attendance and approve PTO/vacation requests, participate in coaching and disciplining staff and assist with performance appraisals for staff level positions.

Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, BSN preferred.

Experience: Two or more years of clinical experience.  Two or more years nursing leadership experience preferred.
