POSITION:                  Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

DEPARTMENT:         Ambulance

HOURS:                       Full-time


The fundamental responsibility of the EMT-B is to conserve life, to alleviate suffering, to promote health, to do no harm and to encourage the quality and equal availability of emergency medical care. The EMT-B is qualified in pre-hospital emergency care and services by a competency-based education program. The standard of practice of the EMT-B shall be in accordance with the most current edition “Emergency Medical Technician: National Standard Curriculum.”


  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Current Minnesota and National EMT-B license
  • Current CPR and ACLS certification
  • Current MN Driver’s license
  • Driving record in compliance with AMR policy


  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients of all ages, co-workers, practitioners and administration (verbal and written.)
  • Positive attitude.
  • Must be confidential and follow HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
  • Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

EXPERIENCE:  Previous EMT experience preferred but not required.
