POSITION:            EMS Manager

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:    Full Time                                           






  • Minimum 3 years experience in Emergency Health Care
  • Current National Registry Paramedic
  • Current MN Paramedic Certification
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • Current PALS or NRP Certification
  • Current valid, non-restricted Minnesota Driver’s License
  • Training in Emergency Vehicle Operations


  • Knowledge of fiscal planning and budget preparation, supervisory and managerial techniques and principles.
  • Skill in oral and written communications, handling multiple tasks and prioritizing, and problem solving.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities, provide professional development and mentoring to assigned personnel, quickly recognize and analyze irregular events, make independent decisions concerning the safety of EMS employees and to act decisively when necessary to insure patient care, public safety and employee safety is not compromised, establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with agencies, city employees, and the public.

General Responsibilities:

Supervises and organizes the Paramedic department.  EMS Manager will work full time in the EMS department which requires on-call hours.  They are responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and programs.  They are also accountable for assuring safe delivery of emergency care within the scope of practice.
