Credentialing Coordinator

POSITION:  Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator


Type of Employment:   1.0 FTE / Non-exempt


Shift:  Days:  40 hours per week

General Responsibilities

Responsible for leading, coordinating, monitoring and verifying all aspects of the clinical & hospital credentialing process, insurance carriers application process, including initial, re-credentialing and post-employment process for physicians, advance practice providers (APP’s), allied health providers (AHP’s).  Ensures compliance with the appropriate agencies, while developing, maintaining and keeping current with a working knowledge of regulations relating to credentialing.  Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the Minnesota Credential Collaborative Database.


Education/Training: Two (2) year Administrative Secretary Associates Degree preferred, high school diploma with work related experience may be considered.

Experience:  Minimum of four (4) years experience related to medical staff credentialing.  Active member of the Minnesota Association of Medical Staff Services preferred.  Optional National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) certification as a Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS) required.
