Mission

A unified health system dedicated to providing a lifetime of quality personalized care!

History

In the beginning, Chippewa County – Montevideo Hospital was founded in 1910 as a private, non-profit corporation at a site on North 6th Street and Highway 7. When the doors opened to admit the hospital’s first patients, the hospital’s goal was to provide high quality health care in a responsible setting.  In approximately 1947, the clinic was officially named the Montevideo Clinic and was located on the lower level of the First National Bank. The hospital was relocated to 824 North 11th Street in 1976. During June of 1978, the Clinic moved into facilities attached to the hospital as the need for space increased. On January 1st, 2005, the Hospital purchased the clinic and combined operations. Our combined Hospital and Medical Clinic is a government, city and county owned facility with links to Luther Haven Nursing Home and Copper Glen Assisted Living Residence. The original goal to provide high quality health care in a responsible setting continues to be a prime motivator of our organization and is reflected in our mission statement

Facilities

Our new facility, still located at 824 North 11th Street, is a source of pride and excitement for our staff and community. In January 2008, the new medical clinic opened for business and the new hospital opened in March of 2009. They represent growth and expansion of services. The new hospital is a 25-bed facility, with three labor and delivery suites, three intensive care suites, and three large operating suites, as well as emergency and diagnostic services, all spacious and state of the art. Visitors will find the bright, attractive facility to be welcoming and assuring. The comfortable new lobby includes a lunch café, gift shop, web access and display of local artists’ work. The Chippewa County – Montevideo Hospital and Medical Clinic, Luther Haven Nursing Home, and Copper Glen Assisted Living Residence form an efficient care campus connected by indoor passageways.
