    Board Certified in Family Practice Medicine
    Born in 1949. Completed undergraduate studies at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. Attended the University of Oslo Medical School in Oslo, Norway and graduated in 1982. Completed residency training at North Memorial Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and in 1987, began practice in Montevideo.

    Special medical interest is in colonoscopy. He is a member of the Minnesota Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, Minnesota Rural Health Cooperative and on the Home Health and Hospice Board.

    Dr. Brathen and his wife, Linda, have two children. His hobbies include hunting, flying, sailing, scuba diving, traveling and wood carving.

    Board Certified in General Surgery
    Born in 1947. Attended Far Eastern University, Manila, Philippines, and graduated in 1970. Completed his rotating Internship at Clark Air Base Hospital, (USAF) Angeles City, Philippines, his surgical Internship at Deaconess Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Residency at the New Jersey Medical School Surgical Program, Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Briones came to Montevideo in 1977 to begin practice.

    Special interests are laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy and abdominal surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, a member Camp Release Medical Society, and the Minnesota Chapter of ACS. Appointed clinical professor with the University of Minnesota - Rural Physician Associate Program, Department of Family Practice.

    Dr. Briones and his wife, Jan, have 5 children. His hobbies include tennis, golf, fishing, chess and reading.

    Board Eligible in Family Practice Medicine
    Born in 1975. Attended Ohio State University where he received a BA in philosophy. Attended Ohio State University Medical School, graduating in 2003. In 2006, he completed his residency in Family Medicine at North Memorial/University of Minnesota.

    Special interests include alterative medicine, behavioral change, and palliative medicine. Dr. Keyhani is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine. He lives in Montevideo with his wife, Elsa, and son, Oliver. His outside interests include movies, modern music, home renovation, and being in the outdoors

    Born in 1972. Completed undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska. Attended the University of Nebraska college of medicine in Nebraska and graduated in 1998. Finished his residency at Lincoln Medical Education Foundation in Lincoln, Nebraska, and in 2001 began practice in Montevideo.

    Special medical interest is obstetrics, cardiology and preventitive health. He is a member of the Minnesota Medical Association. He is currently medical director of Luther Haven Nursing Home.

    Dr. Hanna and his wife, Stephanie, have two children. Some of Dr. Hanna's hobbies are music, movies, running and yard work.

    Board Certified in Family Practice Medicine
    Born in 1973. Completed undergraduate studies at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Attended the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and graduated in 2000. He completed his residency training at North Memorial Family Medicine in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, and in 2003 began practice in Montevideo.

    Special interests are sports medicine and geriatrics. He is a member of the Minnesota Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians and the Hennepin Medical Society.

    Dr. Krueger and his wife, Donna, have one child and two lazy cats. His hobbies include running, biking, rollerblading, sailing, playing nearly all sports, particularly soccer. He relaxes by reading, watching movies or TV, and playing on the computer. He also enjoys playing board games and cards

    Born in 1947. Completed undergraduate studies at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. Attended the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated in 1973. She completed her residency at Methodist Hospital and at St. Louis Park Medical Center both in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and in 1977 began practice in Montevideo.

    Special medical interest is colposcopy. She is an active member of the Chippewa County Child Protection Team, Camp Release Medical Society, secretary of the physicians group, member of the Minnesota Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Lietzau is also appointed as a Clinical Associate Professor with the Department of Family Practice and Community Health at University of Minnesota.

    Dr. Lietzau and her husband, Dale, have three children. Some of her hobbies include gardening, crafts, collecting wooden butter molds and other antiques, and paddle boating.

    Born in 1964. Attended the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in Vermillion, South Dakota, and graduated in 1991. Completed his residency at the Family Practice Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and in 1994 began practice in Montevideo.

    Special interests include cardiac stress testing, colposcopy directed cervical biopsy and cervical cryotherapy. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Minnesota Medical Association, and the American Academy of Family Physicians, ambulance director for outlying communities and hospital lab/X-ray director.

    Dr. Myhre and wife, Jane, have four children. His hobbies include hunting, fishing and mechanical endeavors.

    Born in 1971. Completed undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Attended the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated in 1997. He completed his surgical internship at Eisenhower Army Medical Center and a Family Practice residency at the Duluth Family Practice residency program. Dr. Shelstad served as a physician in the U.S. Army for 5 years and in 2005 began practice in Montevideo.

    Special interests include diabetes and obstetrics . He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians, and the Minnesota Medical Association.

    Born in 1956. Completed undergraduate studies in Human Biology at Mankato State (MN State), Mankato, MN. Attended Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical School in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated in 2001. She completed family medicine residency at Iowa Luthern Hospital in Des Moines, IA in 2004.

    Special medical interests include obstetrics, pediatrics, and women’s health. She is a member of AAFP.

    Dr. Evans and her husband, Kevin, have 5 daughters, 1 son, 5 granddaughters, and one dog. Her hobbies include children’s sporting events, antiques, travel, reading, & sewing.

    Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
    Born in 1957. Grew up in Billings, Montana. Attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and Luther Seminary. After 7 years in Lutheran parish ministry, attended nursing school at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After working in critical care and home care nursing, he obtained a Masters Degree at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, where he graduated in 1998 as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. He came to Montevideo in 1998 to begin his practice.

    Special interests are in health promotion and pediatrics.

    Gregg and his wife, Gayle, have three children. His hobbies include family recreation, camping, reading, biking, and skiing.

    Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
    Born in 1972, Amy grew up in Montevideo, Minnesota. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the College of St. Benedict in 1995. In 2003 she received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota. Amy began her practice as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in Montevideo in 2003.

    Special interests include women’s health issues and pediatrics .

    Amy and her husband, Paul, have two children. Hobbies include golf, reading, traveling and cooking

    Board Certified Physician Assistant

    Born in 1946.
    Grew up in Truman, MN
    Attended University of Minnesota, Morris and St. Cloud State University. Served 3 yrs in U.S. Army Military Intellegence. Returned from Vietnam and graduated from St. Cloud State University with a BA in Biology and BS is Allied Health. Past 8 years practiced in Dermatology.

    Special Interests: Dermatology and Family Practice

    Neal and wife Sue have 3 children.

    Hobbies: Golf, fishing, biking & wood working.
